Anyone Up For A Charm Swap?

I'd like to host a charm swap. I was in a charm swap several months ago, and I enjoyed it so much, I just wanna keep going with them.

I am on a group that swaps out charms, however they are coming up with so many rules and regulations as to what you can make and what you can use on your charm, that it has made me come to the conclusion that I need to get away from that group. They are going as far as holding "Ugly Charm Swaps", to show what not to make. I just don't want to be part of that kind of negativity.

SO *big sigh of relief*, with that being said, Who Wants to Make some charms?? I promise to have very few rules, and I would love for you to make what you want. Ok, rules...*gulping*

  1. Charms should be no larger then 1" wide x 1-1/4" long.

  2. If there are out of country swappers, no feathers, plant materials and such are allowed to be sent out of country.

  3. I want you to make what you want to make, it can be fibers, glass, old metals, game pieces, whatever you feel like making.

  4. You will make as many charms as there are members joining the swap, (that would include one for yourself), it's just so much easier to swap out that way. Example: 25 members = making 25 charms, and so on.

  5. I will keep the sign ups open until May 1, 2007 and with people starting vacation plans and children being out of school, how about having them back to me by June 15, 2007.

  6. Include in the package as much as it cost you to mail it to me. I will work out the uneven numbers.

You don't just have to make a bracelet with your charms, you can add them to a chain and drape them over a lamp shade, planter, fireplace mantel, or even make them into brooches. Whatever makes you happiest with them, is what you should do.
So....any takers?? I'm in!!

Here are a few sites with some great charm idea's.

**Edit** Here is a sample of a charm that I've made, but please make whatever you wish to make.

Hi Mary:

Yes, oh yes, I would love to join in, as I am a big charm bracelet fan! I have a question - do all the charms I make need to be the same for the swap? I make charm bracelets all the time, but have never done a swap before :)

I got it : )
I can do this and I appreciate the leads you gave a newbie like myself so I can be involved with this charm swap. Now, since the rules are minimal it is easy to be creative. Thank you for this opportunity :)

Hi Mary
I added the button for the charm swap, but I don't know how to add the link directly. If you, or anyone else has a chance could someone post directions here or on my blog.
Thanks. I only know the basics! I'm electronically challenged.

Nerissa,
MizSmoochie left me the following directions. I didn't know how either.
This is a perfect tutorial on how to make a clickable button for Blogger. Go into your edit layout. Add new page element. Choose html/java. Paste his info into your text space. Paste your photo url in between the quotes where it says picture url (erase al of that stuff, leaving only your photo url inbetween the quotes.

Do the same with the page you're linking to (insert the url in between the quotes)

Save and it should be clickable.

Hi Mary
I'm soooo bummed. I don't think I'll be able to do the swap. I ordered a new soldering iron and my order was messed up. I'm leaving for a trip tomorrow and it's not here yet. I only got half of them done. I'm sorry to have to drop out. I'll be getting home a few days after the swap is due and I just don't think it's fair to hold everyone up.
To everyone else, I apologize for having to drop out. I hate to do this to you after all your hard work. I was really looking forward to trading with you.
